Radio Broadcasting
Part Time

The Portland Radio Group has a unique opportunity for an individual to make a career (and not just a job) out of radio broadcasting.  This part time position involves working at 8 radio stations and includes in-studio operations and production.  Experience with broadcast technology and audio production software is helpful, but not neccessary.  A willingness to learn, an enthusiasm for the work and the ability to consistently meet deadlines of scheduled tasks is essential.  Weekends and late night availability are critical.

Web/Media Technology Specialist
Full Time

The Portland Radio Group/Saga Communications, Inc. has a unique opportunity for a creative internet web designer. Our Web/Media Technology Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and designing all aspects of internet web development within Saga Communications’ northern region.

Your strengths would include:
Proven experience in web site design, planning, development and project management.
Strong knowledge of HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XHTML, XML, RSS, Macromedia Tools, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop.
Familiarity with DotNetNuke Content Management, ASP.Net, Visual Studio, SQL and Flash ActionScript desirable.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills.
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects needed by multiple people and produce high-quality results within tight time frames.
Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail.
Familiarity with advertising and marketing principles and the radio broadcast industry desirable.

Sales for Audio Production Company

Bluewave Creative, a part of the Portland Radio Group and Saga Communications, is an audio production company that creates radio commercials, musical jingles, podcasts, on-hold telephone advertising and voiceovers for television and the web. We're searching for a person to help us identify and secure new business from advertising agencies, businesses and nonprofit organizations. This is a commission only, part time position that allows a very flexible work schedule, preferably between four and twenty hours per week. Work from your home office or from our studios during business hours at times that fit your schedule.

Applicants should have the ability to comfortably approach business and agency executives. A knowledge of or previous experience in media sales, advertising or marketing is preferred, but is not a requirement.

Portland Radio Group Internships

The Marketing and Promotions department of the Portland Radio Group currently has openings for interns. Interns work flexible schedules, ranging from 4 to 40 hours each week. Most hours are worked between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, but occasional evening and weekend shifts are required. Interns are responsible for assisting in event preparation, writing of promotional scripts, website maintenance, and other duties as assigned. There are opportunities for the work of the intern to be tailored to his or her interests. Interns must be comfortable on the phone, with the public, and with computers. Internships at the Portland Radio Group are unpaid and are not a guarantee of future employment.
